the more I seek You...

Another busy Sunday here at Nativity. It has been a summer of transitions and trying new things. These past two weekends, Chris Wesley has done a great job of putting together relevant, engaging messages that really encourage people to get into God's Word. There is some seriously cool stuff in there but it can seem really intimidating.

Been gearing up for Powerlab, the new series for children. And let me tell you, these kids in Time travelers are going to look AWESOME wearing these goggles during the program:
They are beyond lucky, if you ask me. Kids are going to be lining up around the block to get their hands on one of these babies.

Also, read this really good article from Relevant. It's about the influence social networking can, and in some cases has had on our friendships. And that friendships, real ones, take work and effort. That is something no one would probably argue with, but it often gets lost in the shuffle of life. I have been reflecting lately on my time and money, and God has been showing me that I spend money on and spend time doing exactly what I want. You pick what you do and buy, and you can change it if you'd like. I need to start taking responsibility for what I do and don't do, instead of pondering and wishing things were different. I want to spend more time with my grandparents-okay, than do it! Pick up the phone or get in the car and do it. That is one of those gifts that God has given me, and us. I spend a lot of time thinking and no enough time doing what I'm thinking about. If I am spending my time unwisely, it is no one's responsibility but mine. I need to continue to look inwardly and to God for ways I can improve my life instead of depending on people to do it for me, or to get upset when I get let down. Been reflecting a lot with this song, really trying to understand that the more I seek God, the more I find Him in my life. It's common sense, but easily forgettable.

Great post! Devon read it and is excited about the cool glasses. Apparently she thinks Powerlab will start before 5th grade does. Didn't have the heart to tell her right now.

Thanks for your great blog!
